Firecrackers Recipe
Ingredients:
1 c of water
1/2 lb of carrots (small-sized)
1.5 c of cider vinegar
1/2 tsp of mustard seeds
2 pcs chilies (dried)
1 tsp of powdered onion
1 c of sugar
1/2 tsp of salt (Kosher)
1 tsp of chili flakes
Instructions:
Put your small carrots inside a jar (spring top kind). In your saucepan (non-reactive), bring together flakes of chili, salt, mustard seeds, powdered onion, vinegar (cider), sugar & water and keept this boiling for about 4 mins. Gradually pour in hot liquid on carrots and fill up your jar.
Put chilies inside your jar. Let carrots cool first before you seal your jar up. Place inside your refrigerator with a minimum of two days to a week. Makes 4 portions.
